Easter

We celebrated Easter in Columbia at Fred's mom's. Please notice how awesome Miller's dress is, since it has bunnies on it and probably will not fit again next year, so it was a one time deal. Really, look at the pics. Notice the dress. Thank you. Miller had a fun day with her cousins and enjoyed her Easter basket.

Easter Egg Hunt

After we got back from San Diego, we met up with Miller and Fred's family at an Easter egg hunt. Miller was super excited to see us, and snuggled us each for about 15 minutes with a big ol' smile on her face. She had a great time at her first egg hunt. She really enjoyed eating her first jello.

What? You didn't take pictures of your kid's first jello? You are just a bad mom. Anyway, the egg hunt was kind of confusing for her until we told her it was just like clean up time and started singing, "Clean up, clean up, everybody do your share!" Then, Miller was like, "Oh, I get it!" She began rushing to put all of the eggs in her basket and won two bags of candy. Which she is not aloud to eat. So, Fred and I won two bags of candy.

Plus there was a seesaw and an E Baby there to play with. I would say it was good times.

San Diego

So, I have come to the conclusion that I am a really bad blogger. This is my attempt at getting back on the wagon. Or something. I don't think that expression really applies here.

Anyway, I should warn you that this post is not directly related to Miller in case you want to stop reading. It is about San Diego, which is where Fred and I went over my Spring Break. Miller stayed with her Memama in Columbia. We missed her a lot since this was our first time away from her  for any length of time, but we all lived to tell about it. We stayed in Pacific Beach, which was a little random. We went to the San Diego Zoo and Balboa Park, where I almost perished due to hunger and a lack of dining options that were not inside museums. We went to Coronado, saw the seals and shopped in LaJolla, and drove up the coast visiting Del Mar,and Laguna Beach. I ate all of the avocado in California. If you are ever in San Diego I want to eat at The Mission. And I think you should get the breakfast quesedilla. I had it twice.

You should probably also eat at Cafe 222. We had peanut butter banana french toast (as seen on Best Thing I Ever Ate.) Holy Moly.

Here are some random pictures from our trip.

Coastline.

We did not see Kristen Cavaleri or anyone. Not even Lo.

We definitely paid like $8 to climb down some stairs into this cave. Random.

Sunset Cliffs. Pretty.

SD was fun times. It was a little cold though. It was 90 degrees in Key West, which was our other vacation option. Oops. Maybe next time.

18 Months Stats

I can't believe Miller is one and a HALF. As in almost two! I am finally going to do a little update. She is changing so much, and I know that I am going to forget everything if I don't write it all down. It will probably be a little boring. Don't say I didn't warn you.

Stats-
Weight: 24 lbs (69%)
Height: 31 3/4 inches (49%)

Talking-
Miller is talking up a storm. I have no idea who she gets her chattiness from (sarcasm.) I am going to try to list the things she says, but there are a LOT, so get ready....
mama
dada
blanket
cup
juice
milk
foods
breakfast
oranges
applesauce/apple juice
cheese
"bwak-bwak" for chicken
pizza (piz-eeeee)
eyes, nose, mouth, feet
yes
no and "no way!"
night-night
bye-bye
hey
thank you (tank-too)
I want some (sounds like awesome)
I want
I climb
I slide
Miller (sounds like Mil-me)
CC (my mom)
fish
Elmo
dip
ketchup

That is all I can think of, but she is learning new words every day.

She is also an animal noise savant. She is working on her abc's. She can get to d, and I am pretty sure she is a genius, because the other day she said, "a,b,c,d, duck."

Eating
Miller is being pretty crazy about what she will and won't eat right now. She prefers to dip everything in hummus, yogurt, or ketchup. While she is eating, she will say "dip, dip?" and she also yells "dip!" when we walk past the ketchup at the grocery store. Which reminds me, that she can also say "Whole Foods." Yesterday morning when I got her out of bed she said, "blanket? Whole Foods?" Anyway, she is kinda picky about food and super OCD about which cup she will drink out of. She thinks it funny now to ask for juice and when we give her juice, shake her head and say "milk" and vice versa. Nobody likes a smarta**, kid! Where does she get that from I wonder?

Sleeping
Bobs usually naps around 2 hours at home on the weekends, but only about 45 minutes to an hour at school. I think there is just too much going on for her to sleep.

I think that is about it. I'll leave you with these lovely pictures taken at Miller's 18 months doctor's appointment. It's quite and ensemble.

Here is a pic of Miller on her half-birthday.
She was at a friend's birthday party at the fire department.

Poor Baby!

Yesterday, we went to Furman to let Mills feed the ducks. The kids loves ducks. She was having a great time feeding ducks and just hanging out being cute as seen below.

So, we went to leave and we stopped to play with some sweet doggies. One of them licked Miller right in the face, which she loved. She was crying in the car, but we thought she was just tired but when we got home, the poor baby girl's eye was almost swollen shut. It was pitiful.

I did what any good mom would do-completely freaked out! And then I gave her some Benadryl (which made her drunk and caused her legs to continually fall out from under her as she was toddling full speed, which was hilarious) and the swelling went down. Could she be allergic to dog spit? I guess we are headed back to the allergist. This has not been a good week for eyeballs in this family.

Halloween

I have never blogged out of chronological order before, and it is kind of stressing me out, but I am going to go ahead and cover Halloween and I will have to get back to some other stuff later. I think. At least I plan to. Anyway, Halloween....

We started off on a bad note with Millypants in a crabby mood and mommy waiting at the doctor for an HOUR AND A HALF with flippin' pink eye. Ridiculous. It was 5:45 when that stuipid doctor walked in and said, "I guess you can see that we are running..." At which point I interrupted with, "Yes, you are running AN HOUR AND FIFTEEN MINUTES behind and I am MISSING HALLOWEEN. Now, I have pink eye, let's do this!" I really don't understand why they make four appointments for the SAME time. Call me crazy, but last time I checked, ONE doctor can only see ONE person at a time. But this is all beside the point.

Once I got home and we got Miller to the pizza portion of the evening, our little cheerleader was as happy as could be. Kid loves some pizza.

We did not take her trick-or-treating. She hung out in the driveway and handed out candy and was really stinkin' cute putting one piece of candy into each kid's bag. It was fun times. Due to my stupid eye and the idiot doctor's office, here is our best attempt at a family picture. Thanks to our neighbor, Stephanie who stopped mid trick-or-treat to take pics for us. Unfortunately, we were not very photogenic. Mommy has pink eye, baby has food all over her face (and a hilariously giant belly), and daddy just looks very surprised for some reason.

Oh well. These things never go as planned.
